A lot of times we get confused between the four Kshetras described in Jainism , here is a short description describing the difference between them:
Teerth Kshetra : In Jainism a Teerth Kshetra is a comprehensive list of places including Siddh Kshetra, Atishay Kshetra, Purana Kshetra and Gyan Kshetra,
Siddh Kshetra: Siddha Kshetra is described as a place where a Teerthankar attained Moksh (liberation) or Kewal Gyan (Enlightenment) or spent some time during his lifetime.
Following are some of the Sidhha Kshetra : Pawapuri , ShikharJi ,Palitana, Shravanbelgola,Kundalpur
Atishay Kshetra: Atishay Kshetra is a place where a divine event occurred at some point of time.
Following are some of the Atishay Kshetra : Mahavir Ji , Rishabhdeo, Aharji
Purana Kshetra : Purana Kshetra are associated with the lives of great men and preachers ,places like Ayodhya,, Hastinapur, Rajgir are considered Purana Kshetra.
Gyan Kshetra : Gyan Kshetra are considered as center of learning and associated with Acharyas. Places like Shravanbelgola , Ladnu are considered as Gyan Kshetra.
